CASE STUDY

Two families, two stories, one gala night

Client: Reach Reproductive Health, St. Louis
Project: Two fundraising testimonial films
Length: About 5 minutes each
Premiered: Reach's annual gala, October 22

The client

Reach Reproductive Health is a pregnancy resource center in St. Louis. They offer free, confidential pre-abortion screening and support in a caring, judgment-free space.

The ask

Reach needed films for their annual gala that would let the people they serve speak for themselves, and show guests what their support makes possible.

Our approach

These are deeply personal stories, so we approached every step with care. Each subject shared as much of their pregnancy and birth story as they felt comfortable sharing, and nothing more.

  • Filmed at home. We shot in each family's home so the films would feel personal, not staged.

  • Interview-led. Each film is built around a sit-down interview with its subject.

  • Real life in between. B-roll of everyday moments, time with their child, and time with the Reach team.

The films

Sheena & Sincere

Sheena's pregnancy was unexpected and came as her new career was taking off. She chose to continue it, and today she talks about how glad she is that she did, even though it was hard.

Damon & Zuri

Damon's film tells the story from a father's perspective, and how Reach helped him learn to be the best husband and father he can be.

The results

Both films premiered at Reach's annual gala on October 22.
